Just a SPECK in the vast cosmos...

SPECK is a simple arcade survival game. You're lost in space, flying a ship, getting slowly sucked into a black hole. How long will you be able to survive before you're either swallowed by the black hole or obliterated by the asteroids and planets suffering the same fate as you?

NEW: Versus Trainee Mode - Every run you make in Singleplayer Mode teaches your copilot the dos and don'ts of surviving a black hole. In Versus Trainee mode, you get to face off against your copilot to see who can survive the longest! The Trainee's behaviors are based on your own behaviors during Singleplayer Mode.

NEW: Versus Autopilot Difficulties - Tired of playing against the same Autopilot program? Now there are four difficulties for Autopilot: Easy, Normal, Hard, and Extreme! They all act a little bit differently, so try to beat them all! Autopilot difficulties will be receiving behavior updates in the future to make them harder to beat.

High scores are only tracked and displayed in Singleplayer mode. Use fullscreen for best experience.

Ha really fun! You get a good rhythm going after a while. Also love the bumping music.

The only critique I would say would be it took me about 10 deaths before I realized what I needed to be doing. In my head I thought it was going to be a shmup and I kept dying immediately after I hit restart. Maybe start the game "paused" and have text that says "press space" then once they do that, they see the ship jump and the game starts. Then at least they know they can jump.

But yeah a fun quick play!

Thank you for playing SPECK! I appreciate the feedback--I didn't foresee the controls being unintuitive as a potential issue for the user experience, but you're right that it would be more clear especially if clicking a button didn't immediately throw you into the game lol. I'm glad you enjoyed the game!
